In this workshop, participants will explore botanical oil painting. We will experiment with different methods and techniques used when combining and layering acrylic and oil paint.

We will look at examples from professional traditional and contemporary Artists to gather inspiration and identify some key styles and techniques they used. We will practice correctly drawing with proportion, explore key mediums and practice the effect of using different painted edges. We will then learn a little colour theory and experiment with colour combinations, paint applications and what effects they create.

The exploration will end with time to create a small botanical painting to take home, using a provided image and a minimal palette. Chloe will guide you throughout the painting process or feel free to utilise the inspiration provided and personal intuition to make it your own.
