Sports broadcasting legend John Motson presents an evening of anecdotes and chat at Loughborough Town Hall on Wednesday 20 March at 7.30pm. John is one of the best known personalities for all sports fans. He has been a member of the Match of the Day team for 40 years and is regarded by many as the voice of football.

As an added treat, in the second half of the show, BBC Radio Leicester’s Sports Presenter Martin Ballard will be on hand to host a question and answer session with John and the audience. Martin is immensely knowledgeable about the world of football as well as appearing on the Town Hall stage each Christmas as our loveable panto dame.

John’s contributions to Match of the Day, Grandstand, Football Focus and Five Live have been regular and varied. From 1979 to 2008 he was the BBC's voice on major cup finals - FA Cup, European Championship and World Cup, including his record-breaking sixth World Cup Final in Berlin in 2006 and his 29th FA Cup Final in May 2008, an achievement not reached by any other commentator.
