BrightLights Theatre School are delighted to be back at Loughborough Town Hall, with their new Coalville School's production of The Wiz - the super soul musical!!
The Wiz is a modern re-telling of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Similar in plot to The Wizard of Oz, The Wiz includes all the well known characters, but transforms the story into a fun, funky, modern version of the musical, and sets Dorothy's adventures in the Land of Oz to a dazzling, lively mixture of rock, gospel, and soul music!
Dorothy, the little girl from Kansas, is blown by a tornado into the Land of Oz. While there she meets the Scarecrow, the Tinman, and the Cowardly Lion on the Yellow Brick Road. She sets off with her friends to defeat the Wicked Witch, and to see the powerful Wizard to ask for his help to get home to Kansas. A familiar story with a modern setting, The Wiz won seven Tony Awards when it first opened on Broadway!!
Tickets are priced at £12.50 each, and are available through BrightLights Theatre School only.
