LOUGHBOROUGH COMIC FAIR 2017

In association with Charnwood Borough Council and Loughborough Comic Con 2017 sees the introduction of Loogabarooga Comics Fair, a day dedicated to the amazing people and creators behind the small press, self-publishing and UK comic’s scene!

Chock full of workshops, panels and a comics and zine market all based at Loughborough's Town Hall it's the perfect warm up to Loughborough comic con where you can get involved with some of the hottest up and coming comics talent in England!

Workshops throughout the day include:

11am - Starting From Scratch – Drew Sumner 

From ideas to execution, this workshop covers all the aspects of getting your first comic off the ground and into readers hands. 60 minute workshop lead by Drew Sumner (Jupiter and Have A Go Hero)

12.30pm – Introduction to Writing Comics – Jay Eales & Selina Lock 

 Ever wondered what a comic strip looks like? Want to know the basic do’s and don’ts of writing comics? Come along and find out!

1.30pm – Comics, Zines and the Small Press Scene! 

An interactive panel/Q & A talking to some of the hottest small press talent in the uk today, we look at how to go about collaborating and making zines and comics, how their underground roots have transformed into an essential part of modern art culture and how you can go about creating in artistic way - Panel guests include Paddy Johnston and Samuel Williams of Good Comics and Sammy Borras of That Music Zine, other guests

2.45pm – A Creative Journey to Comics – Anna Assan

In this session, Capp will discuss the importance of self-initiated projects, with a focus on encouraging students and beginner artists to embark on their personal creative journey. You know that cheesy vampire comic you’ve always secretly wanted to draw? You should do it!

Capp is an Israeli comic artist based in North Wales. She studies Illustration, Graphic Novels & Children’s Publishing at Glyndŵr University and uses all of her spare time to draw her Hiveworks-published webcomic, Shaderunners.
