Its acclaimed recordings have won international awards including Gramophone Chamber Music Award of the Year, Diapason d’Or of the Year and a Cannes Classical Award, and have twice been nominated for Grammy Awards. For this concert they have chosen to perform pieces by Haydn, Bax and Beethoven. Brazen romantic Arnold Bax's lyrical and Celtic first string quartet is set between two Classical masterpieces: Haydn's innovative, surprising and dramatic G minor Quartet Op.20 No.3 and Beethoven's autobiographical and ultimately triumphant C Major Quartet Op.59 No.3.
This event is taking place at the Cope Auditorium as part of LU Arts, Loughborough University.
