Laurence and Beverly are entertaining their new neighbours, Angela and Tony as well as Susan, whose teenage daughter, Abigail is having a party to which Susan has been dis-invited. Over drinks and snacks, cliches and fatuous small talk abound. The tension escalates as the marital strain between Beverly and Laurence surfaces and whilst Susan's anxiety over Abigail's party accelerates, the play moves inexorably towards its shocking conclusion…
After a triumphant run in London’s West End, this most popular of plays is coming to Loughborough nearly 40 years since it became an instant classic when appearing as a BBC Play For Today in 1977.
