Lizzie Cooper Band Jazz Night

Tell a friend:

28th April 2015 - 8pm

Venue: Sock Gallery

A great evening of live jazz covering well known standards including blues, bossas and ballads from Lizzie's extensive repertoire, performed in the relaxed and intimate surroundings of the venue's Sock Gallery.

Lizzie was born and grew up in Loughborough and continues to live locally. A graduate in Music from Bath Spa University, she has recently released her new CD entitled You Don't Know What Love Is.

The guest performer at this evening's show will be Julian Stringle.

Julian plays Clarinet, Alton and Tenor Saxes and also sings, but the Clarinet is his passion and he is now recognised as the most stylish performer on the instrument in Europe.

Voted 'Best Clarinettist' at the British Jazz Awards in 2006 and 2007, Julian takes his influences from Artie Shaw, Peanuts Hucko, Buddy De Franco, Eddie Daniels, Oscar Peterson and Delius. His highly melodic music and unique sound reaches the younger audience while his soul, original writing and phenomenal technique excites the jazz aficionados.

Please note, the line-up is subject to change.

"The best clarinettist to emerge in British jazz for decades" - Sir John Dankworth.
