9th February 2014 - 10.00am - 4.00pm
Venue: Sock Gallery
The Second in a series of workshops held at Sock Gallery, Portraiture by Scott Bridgwood.
We will see how Portraiture is a learnable skill. Via a series of short and long poses we will address different ways of ‘looking,’ addressing issues such as ‘subjective distortion’ and ‘feature symbols’. Through group discussions and one to one tuition participants will receive practical advice on everything from looking at anatomy, capturing personality and lighting a portrait. The latter half of the session will be more concerned with light and a variety of drawing techniques,Leading up to, a longer, more sustained pose. The tutor will accompany each pose with examples of his own work to illustrate, explain and inspire. The workshop is open to all levels of ability.
