Two actors, 21 characters, lots of laughs and one of the most romantic stories of all time.

‘It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.’

2013 celebrates the 200th anniversary of the publication of Pride and Prejudice.   Presented by Two Bit Classics and Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds, this new adaptation takes a fresh but faithful approach to one of the nation’s most cherished novels.

Mrs Bennet is on the hunt for husbands for her five daughters.  Mr Bennet is keen to spend time in his library.  Eligible bachelors arrive at Netherfield Park; a Regiment is stationed in Meryton and Mr Collins the clergyman pays a visit…At the centre of this comic whirl are Elizabeth Bennet and Mr Darcy – independent spirits who get off on the wrong foot…

Two actors bring 21 vibrant characters to life in an inventive production that sparkles with Austen's wit and style.

Supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England
