A collaborative exhibition by Alex McQuade and Fenella Beauchamp.

Alex trained in mixed media textiles at De Montfort University, Leicester and graduated with first class honours in 2006. Having worked in the textile industry for a number of years including the Laura Ashely design service and spent a little time teaching art Alex decided it was time to follow her true passion. In 2010 she began working as a professional artist/maker creating her own range of wall art and textile based gifts, this range is now exhibited and sold throughout the UK.

Alex’s artwork is inspired by places visited and the desire to record a memory of somewhere special. The location is captured using a range of techniques and mediums including layering of paint, ink, pastel and adding texture with textile mediums, fabrics, paper, and embroidery (both hand and free machine stitch). The finished result is an intriguing, highly original style of work combined with a fresh, light colour palette.

Fenella is widely travelled and these experiences have all enriched her love of mark making. She studied print making at Kingston university and is still printing today. Fenella also produces large canvases full of vibrancy and colour mainly taken from nature, her two recent series are of hanging game painted in muted and tonal colours by contrast her other series is of a herbaceous border, these are big bold and highly decorative

Fenella has undertaken many commission’s worldwide and had a few exhibition’s, her clients mainly have come by word of mouth .she relishes the challenge of making a unique piece that will adorn your wall for many years to come.
