Total Theatre brings the 8 Tony award and 4 Olivier award winning musical Spring Awakening to Loughborough this August, with a cast of talented local performers.
Based on the banned novel by Frank Wedekind, this coming of age musical blends rock and American folk music set against the backdrop of a rural farming community – where the adults are firmly in charge.
Spring Awakening tells the story of eleven teenagers coming to terms with an adult world they are barely prepared for, touching on themes of sexuality, suicide and pregnancy. With a stunning score and a cast drawn from all over the East Midlands, this production of this cult musical is not to be missed.
This production contains adult themes and language and is suitable for ages 15 upwards.
The production is presented in the Main Hall in a studio format.
