The Spooky Men's Chorale
Sat 14th July, 2007 : 8pm
Tickets £12.50 / £10.50
Genial buffoonery and immaculate, testosterone drenched vocals define the Spooky Men's Chorale, a ruthless bunch of larrikins based in the Blue Mountains of Australia.
Their stated ambition is to make women weep, small children quail, and insurance salesmen vaguely aware that somewhere, there is a whole world they've never experienced.
The repertoire is largely inspired by the pointless grandeur of everyday maleness, in the shower, in the shed and after breakfast. Stage presence is imposing, black and foolishly statuesque, with a cunning taste in hats. Their studied deadpan is no act: like most blokes, they've only got the faintest idea of what's going on...

With much testosterone, a whiff of mastodon and a great deal of spookyness - the men are back! The Spooky Men's Chorale provide top class harmonies and subtle comedy... Who else could give a rendition of Georgian chorale work on one hand and then ABBA's 'Dancing Queen' in the style of a scandinavian drinking song on the other. They are not to be missed - catch them whil you can... and you too could be part of the their caring, sharing, circle of spooky love... Never forget - "Don't stand between a man and his tool... 'cause you never know when you might need one..." (It's a song - not a rude comment)
