The festival was an absolute success with an outstanding line up of talent. For me the Demon Barber's Roadshow was a highlight. The only criticism of the event was the imbalance of sound on some acts. The equipment was set up very expertly but the balance needed some adjustment. This was most evident on the final act-Martin Simpson and friends. Andy Cutting was almost in audible which was a great pity as he is an A1 player. Even Waterson Carthy who seem to have their own sound man, Ollie, were not set up perfectly as Saul Rose's box was a bit too loud while Eliza's fiddle needed a bit extra volume. All these comments from a really grumpy old man but who has been enjoying folk music for 50+years. If the festival is ON for 2009 I hope to be spared to be there.
