D.H.Lawrence's third novel Sons and Lovers is the most autobiographical of all his work. The disappearing world of mining in Eastwood, his birthplace near Nottingham, is wonderfully and movingly realised. We will look at how Lawrence's early life feeds into this work of not-quite fiction.
