Michael Parkinson’s favourite jazz singer makes a welcome return to the Town Hall! Clare Teal hails from a tiny village near Skipton in Yorkshire, and was born to a mother and father with a box full of jazz 78s, and an attic in which to play them. The rest is history: by 2003, she had signed with the Sony Jazz label and soon released her breakthrough album, Don't Talk. It cracked the UK Top 20, and Claire has since won awards including British Jazz Vocalist of the year 2005 and BBC Jazz Vocalist of the year 2006. She also hosts her own very popular Radio 2 jazz programme. With warm, elegant, vocals and a polished but infectious stage presence, Clare Teal is a must for all jazz lovers.
