Carol Kidd

4th September 2009 - 8pm

Celebrated Scottish jazz artiste Carol Kidd, has delighted critics with her new album 'Dreamsville', her first recording in eight years. Her new tour features work from this album including songs such as:

It Never Entered My Mind ● A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square ● How Deep is the Ocean ● How Long Has This Been Going On ● Can't We Be Friends? ● Dreamsville ● There Goes My Heart ● Happiness is a Thing Called Joe ● It's Alright with Me ● Stars Fell on Alabama ● Do You Believe? ● When I Dream

Following the death of her partner in 2003, Carol took a complete break from singing. However, she found therapy in writing lyrics and two songs, co-written with guitarist Nigel Clark - Do You Believe and There Goes My Heart plus a delightful new version of her signature song When I Dream.

The song Happiness is Just a Thing Called Joe is dedicated to the late Humphrey Lyttelton who asked, after hearing Carol sing it, for her to include the song in her recorded repertoire.

Carol Kidd is renowned for her impeccable phrasing and delivery along with an innate ability to breathe fresh life into jazz standards. “Dreamsville” places a great singer, at the top of her form, back where she belongs - in the upper echelons of world class vocal jazz.
