It's 1994, and the lifeblood of Grimley's community is threatened when the pit looks set for closure signifying the loss of 1200 jobs and the end for the colliery's long-standing and close-knit brass band.Brassed Offis the stage play of the multi-award-winning 1996 film starring Pete Postlethwaite, Tara Fitzgerald, Ewan McGregor and Stephen Tompkinson which induced both tears and laughter from audiences in equal measure through its poignant depiction of a community, and a band, in crisis.
