“Marvellous. Can’t wait for panto time to come around again.” The Stage
Following last year’s smash hit Sleeping Beauty, WISH Theatre returns to Loughborough Town Hall for the 6th time this Christmas, with the magical pantomime adventure Aladdin – guaranteed to be another cracker.
Aladdin is the tale of a poor Chinese boy who dreams of marrying a beautiful princess. But his dream seems impossible, as the law decrees that the princess may only marry a prince. Aladdin’s problems look set to get worse when his mum, Widow Twankey and his goodhearted, but hapless brother Wishee Washee, cause mix-up mayhem at the laundry, earning the wrath of the Emperor. Can Aladdin avert disaster, win his fortune and make all their dreams come true? A truly magical pantomime adventure, filled with thrills, laughs, flying carpets, magic lamps, a fabulous genie and even an elephant!
The pantomime is written by BAFTA award winning writers, Iain Lauchlan and Will Brenton, (whose writing includes The Tweenies, Fun Song Factory, and Jim Jam and Sonny). This breathtaking new production promises to be a feast of spectacular scenery, dazzling costumes, music, astonishing magic and madcap comedy, suitable for everyone to enjoy from age 3+
Note: Preview Performances on Saturday 29 November at 12pm & 5.30pm are at a special discounted rate of just £6.50/£9.50
