Tell a friend:

20th January 2018 - 10am -4pm

Venue: Sock Gallery

Using the wet felting method and Merino wool fibres you will create a picture by using the fibres in a painterly way. During the course of the day you will learn the basic method of wet felting and produce a picture from your chosen image. This workshop is for both beginners and more experienced felt makers.

Free tea and coffee throughout the day.

Liz Emery uses the wet felting method to create pictures that have the feel of a painting but which retain the textural qualities of a textile piece. She manipulates and explores a range of fibres in a way that allows fine detail to merge with the more unpredictable outcome this felting method produces.
Working from her own photographic images Liz explores themes that are personal to her and which evoke a vivid impression of reality.
Since graduating in Textile design from Leeds University Liz has taught fine art in London and Nottingham and is now working full time on her own art work.
