Testament of Youth by Vera Brittain

Subtitled 'An Autobiographical Study of the Years 1900 - 1925', this is Brittain's account of her introduction to WW1 and the terrible losses in her personal life; her brother, her fiancé and several very close male friends, all in that war.

Poignant and vivid, her descriptions of the front lines where she nursed the wounded have the authenticity of true experience and feeling.
