40 Years On - An Evening with Pam Ayres

Tell a friend:

9th October 2015 - 7.30pm

Venue: Loughborough Town Hall

40 years after she first appeared on TV’s Opportunity Knocks, Pam Ayres brings her latest show to Loughborough following the recent paperback release of her new book of poetry, You Made Me Late Again!

Pam Ayres’ work is funny and approachable. It sounds simple, but this is deceptive. Her hair-trigger timing, her eye for the detail of everyday life, and for the absurdity therein, makes for an art that hides art. Her books have been bestsellers for 40 years and Pam is still a regular on Radio and TV, on programmes such as Just A Minute, Loose Ends, six series of Ayres On The Air for Radio 4, The Paul O’Grady Show, Alan Titchmarsh Show, Countdown and The One Show.

“Pam Ayres is a proper poet, whose wistful, funny and perceptive verse captures both the joy and unfairness of life.”   Sunday Times
