Titus Andronicus

Venue: Loughborough Town Hall

Following their smash hit tour, Smooth Faced Gentlemen bring their critically acclaimed theatrical rebellion to Loughborough. A stripped down, ramped up, vibrant and visceral retelling of Shakespeare’s cruelly underestimated tragedy of blind revenge and severed bloodlines, Titus Andronicus.

In the dying days of the Empire, Rome’s foremost families become embroiled in a destructive spiral of revenge that threatens to undo them all. As alliances (and limbs) are severed, can the memory of civic duty and compassion save a people who have lost their way?

With style, wit and gallons of red paint, this breath-taking production celebrates the Bard's brutal, farcical and misunderstood play.

Smooth Faced Gentlemen are the UK’s only all-female Shakespeare troupe, and a supported company at Greenwich Theatre.
