A cult favourite in London in the 1990s, 'Moby Dick! The Musical' has been re-written and updated and is being presented by BrightLights Theatre School.
The girls of St. Godley's School are in trouble. Money has run out, and unless cash can be raised the school will close. However, do not fear! Leave it to these resourceful schoolgirls and their unflappable Headmistress to come up with a plan to keep the school afloat (literally ...) Using whatever they can find at hand, the girls mount an original production to raise funds: a musical version of Moby Dick featuring their Headmistress in the coveted role of Captain Ahab! As Herman Melville rolls in his grave, our spirited girls trample roughshod over the classic as they carry on with their performance, all the time remembering their motto - "Stuff art, let's DANCE!"
BrightLights Theatre School offers performing arts training for 5-18 year olds. For information on how to join, or to buy tickets for Moby Dick, please contact the school directly at the above number or email address.
