A solo exhibition by Felt Artist Liz Emery

'In The Balance' explores and captures the beauty of the changing seasons and the cycle of growth. Liz takes us on a journey through Sherwood Forest and places that are personal to her. Demonstrating her love of nature and touches on the effect climate change may have upon it.

Using the wet felting method Liz creates pictures that have the feel of a painting whilst retaining the tactile qualities of a textile piece. She manipulates and explores a range of fibres in a way that allows fine detail to merge with the more spontaneous outcomes of felting. Working from her own photographic images Liz uses colour and texture to create images that evoke a vivid sense of reality. She has developed a method of felting newspaper cuttings into pieces where she has needed to comment on society or the environment.

 Liz works from her studio in Nottingham and exhibits work both Nationally and Internationally. She is happy to take commissions.
