Lady Chatterley's Lover by D H Lawrence
Scandalous when written in 1928, not fit for 'your wives and servants' in 1960, this is Lawrence's last major novel. He wrote three versions of it in his desperation to get right his exploration of the relationship between male and female in the modern world.
