Our highly popular series of lunchtime lectures on great works of literature are brought to you by Dr Jane Mackay. A graduate of three universities, Jane’s obvious love for her subject, penetrating insight, wit, warmth and humanity continue to enthral.
The Turn of the Screw by Henry James
A horror story written by the absolute master of psychological exploration. A ghost story that may or may not have ghosts! Is the governess moral and sane or prurient and mad? We will see if we can get towards a clear understanding of James’s intentions. (This lecture is a repeat from last November, which was cancelled because of snow?)
Please note: Literature at Lunchtime only, there is no Booking Fee for Cash Transactions
